A new survey from the National Retail Federation (NRF) says 13.2 percent of Americans will spend their refund on a big ticket item. Knowing that no money is guaranteed in today's economy, 42.1 percent say they're going to save their return. Of course, many don't have the luxury of saving the money for a rainy day—or at least they choose to lessen their debt—that's the decision of 41.9 percent. Overall, 66.2 percent of Americans expect to get a refund this year, that's up from 65.5 percent last year. The NRF expects that over 35 percent have yet to file their taxes going into March.
Are you expecting a refund this year? If so, what will you do with the money?
