There is an expression that “when you look at challenge differently, it starts looking different to you”. There are a few people lately that are amazing examples to me of “attitude in action” in dealing with their own life altering situations. I can think of three people in particular including myself that have in recent time’s endured serious life threatening illnesses. They went through personal and professional crisis that really can try a person’s faith and belief, but they persevere with grace and poise. Sadly my wife’ beloved grandmother passed away last month a symbol love, courage and compassion.
Some days we are just not ok or not good, but my friends showed me they shared that with their support team anyway. All around us there are people we know in crisis and change, from jobs to homes, to health, family and finances. Who do you know that has an “awesome attitude”? How can that make a BIG difference not only to them but to others?
For me, the past 35 years has been a relentless series of changes in all the areas of my life. By choosing to stay positive, keep evolving, growing and moving forward. There are many things that are NOT the same, but I still have love, health, family, friends, opportunity and fun in my life. As many of my friends know I am now passing on how I changed/turned my life around spiritual, physically, emotionally, mentally and in the area of wellness.
So what is Attitude?
A = action (A doer not a gunna)
T = time management (Focused, organised)
T = tenacity (Persistence)
I = inspiration (Example, Creativeness & Motivation)
T = temperance (Sobriety, clear headedness)
U = unafraid (Fearless, Embracing Uncertainly)
D = daring (Adventurous & Courageous)
E = empathy (Sympathy, Understanding & Compassion)
What defines your attitude? Never underestimate how it can help someone you don’t know or haven’t met yet!

Everyone’s life is affected by thinking, acting, feeling, and physiology. Understanding how all your senses contribute to the way you think is a powerful tool. We have considerable control over the first ‘thinking’ yet so many people have no idea of their potential. To take action is something internal to us all. Again this is only expressed from time to time when motivation is high enough. The wonderful gift that you give yourself comes from harnessing the power of thinking & taking action they significantly increase our ability to govern our feelings; which in turn positively changes our physiology. This is illustrated superbly by a verse in the Old Testament the Book of Proverbs chapter 23 verse 7, “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
The source of much unhappiness is the failure to make positive choices. There are many NLP presuppositions like there is no such thing as failure only feedback. The symptoms of unhappiness are widely variable and can be disturbing and destructive. However, as we learn how to choose alternate behaviours that result in greater satisfaction, life becomes richer and more exciting. Understanding what your strategies are and why you “run” them are absolute for change. What meaning have you put on past experiences? Does it serve, support, nurture and challenge you? When you were six or seven year’s maybe it did? We create strategies for everything and a general reason is it protects us or keeps us safe from something.
